This hadith is about the importance of sacrifice in Islam. It was narrated from Uqbah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) gave him some sheep to be sacrificed and distributed them among his companions. However, there remained one ‘Atud which he mentioned to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Prophet then instructed him to sacrifice it himself. This hadith teaches us that sacrificing animals is a part of Islamic tradition and should not be taken lightly or ignored. It also shows us how important it is for Muslims to follow the teachings and instructions given by our beloved prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We should always strive to do what he has asked us so that we can gain rewards in this life as well as in the hereafter.
