Revering Sanctity for Goodness

SUMMARY: The goodness of a nation will remain as long as they respect and revere the sanctity of the place.

It was narrated from 'Ayyash bin Abu Rabi’ah (Makhzumi) that the Messenger of Allah said: 'The goodness of this nation will not cease as long as they revere this sanctuary* as it is due. But when they lose that reverence, they will be doomed".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، وَابْنُ الْفُضَيْلِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَابِطٍ، عَنْ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ لاَ تَزَالُ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةُ بِخَيْرٍ مَا عَظَّمُوا هَذِهِ الْحُرْمَةَ حَقَّ تَعْظِيمِهَا فَإِذَا ضَيَّعُوا ذَلِكَ هَلَكُوا
