Supplying Water to Pilgrims in Makkah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) did not allow anyone to stay overnight in Makkah except for 'Abbas, who was responsible for supplying water to the pilgrims.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Prophet did not allow anyone to stay overnight in Makkah apart from 'Abbas, for the purpose of supplying water to the pilgrims".
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَهَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ لَمْ يُرَخِّصِ النَّبِيُّ ـ ـ لأَحَدٍ يَبِيتُ بِمَكَّةَ إِلاَّ لِلْعَبَّاسِ مِنْ أَجْلِ السِّقَايَةِ
