Performing Hajj with Children

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his companions performing Hajj with women and children, reciting Talbiyah on behalf of the children, and stoning the Pillars on their behalf.

It was narrated that Jabir said: "We performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah , and there were women and children with us. We recited Talbiyah on behalf of the children and stoned the Pillars on their behalf".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ حَجَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ وَمَعَنَا النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَلَبَّيْنَا عَنِ الصِّبْيَانِ وَرَمَيْنَا عَنْهُمْ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his companions performing Hajj with women and children. During this pilgrimage to Makkah they recited Talbiyah on behalf of the children which is a prayer that expresses one's intention to perform Hajj or Umrah. They also stoned the Pillars which symbolizes rejecting Satan's temptations in life. This hadith teaches us that it is important to bring our families along when we are performing religious duties as it will help them learn more about Islam from a young age. It also shows us how important it is for us to reject Satan's temptations in life so that we can stay away from sinning.
