Distributing Wealth According To Islamic Law

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised to distribute wealth among those who are entitled to shares of inheritance according to the Book of Allah, and whatever is left over should go to the nearest male relative.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Distribute wealth among those who are entitled to shares of inheritance, according to the Book of Allah, then whatever is left over goes to the nearest male relative.’"
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ اقْسِمُوا الْمَالَ بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الْفَرَائِضِ عَلَى كِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَمَا تَرَكَتِ الْفَرَائِضُ فَلأَوْلَى رَجُلٍ ذَكَرٍ

This hadith speaks about how wealth should be distributed among those who are entitled to shares of inheritance according to the Book of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised that whatever is left over after distributing wealth should go to the nearest male relative. This hadith teaches us that it is important for us as Muslims, when distributing our wealth, we must do so in accordance with Islamic law and not just randomly or arbitrarily. We must also remember that if there is anything left over after distribution, it should go towards our closest male relatives as a sign of respect and love for them. It also teaches us that we must take care of our family members first before anyone else when it comes to matters such as this.
