Martyrdom in Defense of Property

SUMMARY: A man who is killed while defending his property is considered a martyr.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: "If a man's property is targeted, and he is fought and fights back and is killed, he is a martyr".
حَدَّثَنَا الْخَلِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْجَزَرِيُّ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَنْ أُتِيَ عِنْدَ مَالِهِ فُقُوتِلَ فَقَاتَلَ فَقُتِلَ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ

The hadith narrated by Ibn 'Umar states that if a person's property is targeted and he fights back to defend it, then he will be considered a martyr even if he dies in the process.
