This hadith teaches us about the importance of justice and mercy. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said “A legal punishment that is carried out in the land is better for the people of that land than if it were to rain for forty days.” This means that when laws are enforced and punishments are given fairly and justly, it can be more beneficial to society than even natural blessings like rain. Rain brings life-giving water but justice brings peace and security which can be even more valuable.
