Sunan Ibn Majah 2464 (Book 16, Hadith 29) #31816
Giving Land is Better than Taking Rent

SUMMARY: It is better to give land to a brother than to take rent for it.

It was narrated from Tawus that Ibn'Abbas told that the Messenger of Allah merely said: "For one of you to give (land) to his brother is better for him than if he were to take a set amount in rent for it".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of giving and generosity. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that it is better for one person to give land to their brother, rather than taking a set amount in rent for it. This hadith encourages us to be generous with our resources, and not just think of ourselves but also think of others. It teaches us that we should be willing to share what we have with those around us, even if there are some financial benefits in keeping them for ourselves. By doing this, we can create strong bonds between family members and build a sense of community among people who may not otherwise have much in common.
