QUICK LESSONS:
Be fair and just when dealing with others financially
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad taught us that there are certain types of transactions that are forbidden. Mulamasah and Munabadha are two such transactions which the Prophet prohibited. Mulamasah is a transaction in which one party gives something to another without any consideration or payment in return. On the other hand, Munabadha is a transaction in which one party gives something to another with an agreement that the other party will pay back at a later date with an additional amount as interest or profit for the lender. Both these types of transactions were forbidden by the Prophet because they involve taking advantage of someone else’s financial situation and exploiting them for personal gain. This hadith teaches us to be fair and just when dealing with others financially and not take advantage of their situation for our own benefit.
