Sunan Ibn Majah 2140 (Book 12, Hadith 4) #31492
The Equivalence of Good Deeds

SUMMARY: Doing good deeds such as helping the poor and widows is equivalent to fighting in the cause of Allah and praying at night and fasting during the day.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said: 'The one who strives to support the widow and the poor is like a Mujahid who fights in the cause of Allah, and like one who stands in the night (in voluntary prayer) and fasts by day".
