Seeking Refuge with Allah

SUMMARY: A daughter of Jawn sought refuge with Allah from the Prophet (PBUH) when he came close to her, and the Prophet (PBUH) accepted her request and allowed her to go back to her family.

Awza'i said : "I asked Zuhri: 'Which of the wives of the Prophet sought refuge with Allah from him? He said : "Urwah told me, (narrating) from 'Aishah, that when the daughter of Jawn entered upon the Messenger of Allah and he came close to her, she said: "I seek refuge with Allah from you". the Messenger of Allah said : "You have sought refuge in the Almighty" go to your family".
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ أَىُّ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ اسْتَعَاذَتْ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ ابْنَةَ الْجَوْنِ لَمَّا دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ فَدَنَا مِنْهَا قَالَتْ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْكَ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ عُذْتِ بِعَظِيمٍ ‏.‏ الْحَقِي بِأَهْلِكِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a daughter of Jawn who sought refuge with Allah from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when he came close to her. The Prophet ﷺ accepted this request and allowed her to go back to her family. This hadith teaches us that we should always seek refuge in Allah whenever we feel threatened or scared, as He is our protector and guardian. It also teaches us that it is important for us to respect other people's boundaries, even if they are not related to us, as the Prophet ﷺ respected this woman's wishes by allowing her leave his presence without any harm coming upon him or upon anyone else. We can also learn from this hadith that it is important for us to be kind towards others, even if they are not related or familiar with us; by allowing this woman leave his presence without any harm coming upon him or anyone else shows how kindhearted he was towards others regardless of their relationship status with him.
