Sunan Ibn Majah 1752 (Book 7, Hadith 115) #31104
Supplications Not Turned Back

SUMMARY: The supplication of a just ruler, a fasting person, and one who has been wronged will not be turned back by Allah.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: There are three whose supplications are not turned back: A just ruler, and a fasting person until he breaks his fast. And, the supplication of one who has been wronged is raised by Allah up to the clouds on the Day of Resurrection, and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and Allah says, 'By My Might I will help you (against the wrongdoer) even if it is after a while.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for justice & fairness in all dealings with others & seek justice for those around you when you see injustice being done to them . Make du’a regularly .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the power of supplication and how it is never turned back by Allah. It mentions three types of people whose supplications are especially powerful; a just ruler, a fasting person until they break their fast, and someone who has been wronged. A just ruler is someone who rules with fairness and justice for all people regardless of their social status or wealth. A fasting person is someone who abstains from food and drink during the day in Ramadan or any other time as an act of worship to Allah. Someone who has been wronged is someone whose rights have been taken away from them unjustly or unfairly without any reason. The hadith states that these three types of people's supplications are so powerful that they reach up to the clouds on the Day of Resurrection and even if help comes late, Allah will still help them against those who have wronged them. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to be fair in our dealings with others as well as seek justice for those around us when we see injustice being done to them. We should also remember to make du’a regularly as it can be very powerful in helping us achieve our goals in life both spiritually and materially.
