This hadith speaks about how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would recite a prayer when placing a deceased person in their grave. The prayer was “Bismillah, wa 'ala millati rasul-illah” which translates to “In the Name of Allah and according to the religion of the Messenger of Allah”. On one occasion, Abu Khalid said “Bismillah wa 'ala sunnati rasul- illah” which translates to “In The Name Of Allah And According To The Sunnah Of The Messenger Of Allah”. Hisham said on another occasion, he recited “Bismillah, wa fi sabil-illah, wa 'ala millati rasul-illah” which translates to “In The Name Of Allah For The Sake Of Allah And According To The Religion Of The Messenger Of Allah". This hadith teaches us that we should always remember our faith and be devoted to it even at times like death or burial.
