The Prophet's Practice of Two Rakah at Iqamah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) used to perform two Rakah at the time of Iqamah.

It was narrated that 'Ali said: "The Prophet used to perform two Rak’ah at the time of the Iqamah".
حَدَّثَنَا الْخَلِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَبُو عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ـ ـ يُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ عِنْدَ الإِقَامَةِ

This hadith narrates that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to perform two Rakahs when the call for prayer was made. This is known as Iqamah and it is a part of Islamic worship. It is a Sunnah or tradition of the Prophet ﷺ that Muslims should follow in order to gain reward from Allah SWT. This hadith teaches us about the importance of following in the footsteps of our beloved prophet ﷺ and performing our prayers with devotion and sincerity. It also reminds us that we should strive to be consistent in our worship so that we can reap its rewards both in this world and hereafter.
