Sunan Ibn Majah 1123 (Book 5, Hadith 321) #30475
Catching One Rakah of Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that whoever catches even one Rakah of Friday prayer or any other prayer, has caught the whole prayer.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever catches one Rak’ah of Friday prayer or other than it, then he has caught the prayer.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive towards completing your prayers in full whenever possible; Make an effort towards fulfilling religious obligations; Appreciate Allah's mercy and grace upon you; Respect the importance of praying regularly; Have faith that Allah will accept your efforts even if you are unable to complete your prayers fully due to certain circumstances.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us that when we pray, we should strive to complete our prayers in full. However, if for some reason we are unable to do so and only manage to catch one rakat of a particular prayer - be it on a Friday or any other day - then this is still considered as having completed the entire prayer. This hadith teaches us that even if we are not able to complete our prayers in full due to certain circumstances, Allah will still accept our efforts and reward us for them. It also encourages us to make an effort towards completing our prayers in full whenever possible and not take them lightly.
