Sahih al-Bukhari 3152 (Book 57, Hadith 60) #3014
Expulsion of Jews from Hijaz

SUMMARY: The Jews were expelled from the land of Hijaz by Umar bin Al-Khattab, and they were allowed to stay on the condition that they would do labor and get half of the fruits.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: 'Umar bin Al-Khattab expelled all the Jews and Christians from the land of Hijaz. Allah's Messenger after conquering Khaibar, thought of expelling the Jews from the land which, after he conquered it belonged to Allah, Allah's Messenger and the Muslims. But the Jews requested Allah's Messenger to leave them there on the condition that they would do the labor and get half of the fruits (the land would yield). Allah's Messenger said, "We shall keep you on these terms as long as we wish". Thus they stayed till the time of 'Umar's Caliphate when he expelled them to Taima and Ariha.

QUICK LESSONS:
Keep your promises , Be fair in your dealings , Try finding peaceful solutions over violence/aggression .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Umar bin Al-Khattab expelled all the Jews and Christians from the land of Hijaz. After Prophet Muhammad ﷺ conquered Khaibar, he thought about expelling them as well, but they requested him to leave them there on certain conditions. They agreed to do labor and get half of the fruits in return for staying in that land which belonged to Allah, Allah's Messenger ﷺ and Muslims. This agreement was kept until Umar's Caliphate when he finally decided to expel them out of Hijaz. This hadith teaches us that it is important for us to keep our promises even if it means making some sacrifices or compromises along with it. It also teaches us that we should be fair in our dealings with others even if we are not happy with their presence or actions. We should always try our best to find a peaceful solution instead of resorting to violence or aggression right away.
