Sahih al-Bukhari 298 (Book 6, Hadith 5) #297
Kindness and Compassion of the Prophet (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) showed kindness and compassion to Um Salama when she got her menses.

Narrated Um Salama: While I was laying with the Prophet under a single woolen sheet, I got the menses. I slipped away and put on the clothes for menses. He said, "Have you got "Nifas" (menses)?" I replied, "Yes". He then called me and made me lie with him under the same sheet.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show kindness & compassion towards others no matter what their circumstances are or what they are going through in life.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the kindness and compassion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ towards his wife Um Salama. When she was laying with him under a single woolen sheet and got her menses, she slipped away to put on clothes for it. He asked if she had gotten her menses and when she replied yes he called her back to lie with him under the same sheet again. This shows us that even in such a situation where it is considered impure according to Islamic teachings, he still showed love and care towards his wife by not making her feel uncomfortable or embarrassed about it. It also teaches us that we should be kind and compassionate towards others no matter what their circumstances are or what they are going through in life.
