Follow commands of Allah & his messenger . Seek guidance before taking any action .

This hadith is about the importance of following the commands of Allah and His Messenger. It is narrated by 'Aishah that the Prophet Muhammad went out to urinate and 'Umar followed him with water. When the Prophet asked what this was for, 'Umar said it was water for performing ablution after urinating. The Prophet then explained that he had not been commanded to perform ablution every time he urinated; if this were so, then it would have become a Sunnah. This hadith teaches us that we should only do things which are commanded by Allah or His Messenger; anything else should be avoided as there may be unintended consequences or implications from doing something without being instructed to do so. We must also remember that even though something may seem like a good idea at first glance, we must always seek guidance from Allah and His Messenger before taking any action in order to ensure our actions are in line with Islamic teachings.
