Jami at-Tirmidhi 3847 (Book 49, Hadith 247) #29509
The Softness of Paradise

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was gifted a garment of silk and people were amazed by its softness. He then reminded them that the handkerchiefs of Sa'd bin Mu'adh in Paradise are even better than this.

Narrated Al-Bara: "A garment of silk was gifted to the Messenger of Allah so they began to marvel at its softness, so the Messenger of Allah said: 'Do you marvel at this? Indeed, the handkerchiefs of Sa'd bin Mu'adh in Paradise are better than this'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's reminder to his companions that the rewards in paradise are far greater than anything they can experience on earth. In this hadith, he was gifted a garment made from silk which amazed his companions due to its softness. However, he reminded them that the handkerchiefs of Sa'd bin Mu'adh in paradise are even better than this. This hadith teaches us to be content with what we have and not be too focused on worldly pleasures as they will pale in comparison to what awaits us in paradise if we remain steadfast believers and doers of good deeds.
