Jami at-Tirmidhi 3738 (Book 49, Hadith 135) #29397
Helping Others Rewarded with Paradise

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was unable to climb onto a boulder, so Talhah helped him by lifting him up. As a reward for his help, the Prophet promised Talhah Paradise.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair: that Az-Zubair said: "On the Day of (the battle of) Uhud, the Messenger of Allah wore two coats of mail. He tried to get up on a boulder, but was not able to, so Talhah squatted under him, lifting the Prophet upon it, such that he could sit on the boulder. So he said: 'It (Paradise) is obligatory for Talhah'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Help those who are in need whenever possible without expecting anything in return .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of helping others in need. On the day of Uhud, the Prophet Muhammad was trying to climb onto a boulder but could not do it on his own. Talhah came to his aid and lifted him up so he could sit on it. As a reward for his help, the Prophet promised Talhah paradise as an obligation from Allah. This hadith teaches us that when we help someone in need, Allah will reward us with something even greater than what we gave them - paradise! It also shows us that helping others is an obligation from Allah and should be done whenever possible without expecting anything in return.
