Jami at-Tirmidhi 3331 (Book 47, Hadith 383) #28980
Turning Away From Those in Need

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) turning away from a blind man, Ibn Umm Maktum, when he was talking to a revered man from the idolaters.

Aishah narrated: "He frowned and turned away" was revealed about Ibn Umm Maktum the blind man. He came to the Messenger of Allah saying: 'O Messenger of Allah! Guide me.’ At that time, there was a revered man from the idolaters with the Messenger of Allah. So the Messenger of Allah turned away from him and faced the other man, saying: 'Do you think that there is something wrong with what I am saying?’ He said: 'No.’ So it was about that that it was revealed".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be kind towards those in need , Give attention to people asking for guidance , Help others regardless of their situation or background .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's reaction when a blind man named Ibn Umm Maktum asked him for guidance while he was speaking to another person. The Prophet Muhammad frowned and turned away from him, which caused Allah to reveal verses in the Quran that reprimanded him for not giving attention to those who are in need of help and guidance. This teaches us that we should always be mindful of those who are less fortunate than us and make sure we give them our attention whenever they ask for it. We should also strive to help them as much as possible so they can find their way out of difficult situations. Furthermore, this hadith also reminds us that even though we may be busy with something else, it is important that we take time out of our day to help others who need it more than us.
