Jami at-Tirmidhi 3245 (Book 47, Hadith 297) #28894
The Superiority of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the superiority of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) over all other prophets and how one should not make any comparison between them.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: "In the market of Al-Madinah, a Jew said 'No! By the One who chose Musa above all humans'." He said: "A man from the Ansar raised his hand and struck him in his face. He said 'You say this while Allah's Prophet is among us?' So the Messenger of Allah said 'And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except him whom Allah wills. Then it will blown another time and behold, they will be standing, looking on (39:68). So I shall be the first to raise his head and there will be Musa holding on to one of the supports of the Throne. So I will not know if he raised his head before me, or if he was one of those whom Allah made the exception for. And whoever says: 'I am better than Yunus bin Matta, then he has indeed lied'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect all prophets sent by Allah SWT .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Hurairah, who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this hadith, a Jew in the market of Al-Madinah said something disrespectful about Musa, which angered a man from the Ansar who then struck him in his face. The Prophet ﷺ then reminded them that on the Day of Judgement when the Trumpet will be blown, everyone will swoon away except those whom Allah wills and he will be amongst those who are standing looking on. He further added that he would be amongst those to raise their heads first and there would be Musa holding onto one of the supports of Allah's Throne. He concluded by saying that anyone who claims to be better than Yunus bin Matta has lied as no one can claim superiority over another prophet sent by Allah SWT.

This hadith teaches us to respect all prophets sent by Allah SWT and not make any comparisons between them as they are all equally respected in Islam regardless of their rank or status in this world. We must also remember that on Judgement Day we will all stand before our Lord and answer for our deeds so it is important for us to strive towards righteousness while we still have time here on earth so we can attain His mercy when we meet Him again inshaAllah!
