Returning to Allah Through the Qur'an

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that the best way to return to Allah is through following the Qur'an.

Narrated Jubair bin Nufair: that the Prophet said: "You shall not return to Allah with what is more virtuous than what came from Him". Meaning the Qur'an.
حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ "‏ إِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَرْجِعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِأَفْضَلَ مِمَّا خَرَجَ مِنْهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ يَعْنِي الْقُرْآنَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that we should strive to return to Allah with what is most virtuous. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught that this virtue comes from following the teachings of the Qur’an. The Qur’an is a holy book revealed by God and contains guidance for all aspects of life. It teaches us how we should live our lives in order to please God and gain His favor. We can do this by living according to its teachings and striving for righteousness in all aspects of our lives. By doing so, we will be able to return back to Him with what is most virtuous and gain His pleasure in the process.
