EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses the confusion that can arise when narrating a hadith. It is reported by Shu'bah from Ibn Abi Laila who sometimes attributed it to Abu Ayyub and other times to 'Ali. This shows that even though there may be confusion in the chain of narrators or the attribution of a hadith, it does not necessarily mean that the content of the hadith is incorrect or unreliable. It simply means that more research needs to be done in order to determine its authenticity and accuracy. The main values taught by this hadiths are accuracy and reliability when it comes to reporting information as well as being open-minded towards different interpretations of a single event or story.
