QUICK LESSONS:
Welcome guests with kindness and respect

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of hospitality and kindness in Islam. It is narrated by Umm Hani that she went to visit Prophet Muhammad during the Year of Conquest and found him taking a bath while Fatimah was screening him with a garment. When he asked who it was, she replied that it was her, Umm Hani, to which he responded warmly with “Welcome, Umm Hani”. This hadith teaches us that we should always welcome our guests with kindness and respect regardless of their identity or background. We should also be generous in our hospitality towards them as this is an important part of Islamic etiquette. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as an example for us to follow in terms of how we should treat our guests; just like how Prophet Muhammad welcomed his guest warmly despite being busy at the time.
