The Significance of Thursday Travels

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) preferred to travel on Thursdays.

Narrated Ka'b bin Malik: The Prophet set out on Thursday for the Ghazwa of Tabuk and he used to prefer to set out (ie travel) on Thursdays.
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ خَرَجَ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ، وَكَانَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ‏.‏

The hadith narrated by Ka’b bin Malik states that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ preferred to set out on Thursdays for his travels.
