The Joys of Paradise

SUMMARY: This hadith speaks of the joy and comfort of those in Paradise, who are known as Al-Hur Al-'Ein. They will never die, have no needs, and are always pleased.

'Ali narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Indeed in Paradise there is a gathering for Al-Hur Al-'Ein wherein they rasie their voices. The creatures have not heard the likes of them". He said: "They say: 'We are the eternal ones, we shall not die. We are the ones who live in joy and comfort, we have no needs. We are the pleased ones, we do not get angry. Tuba(good news) to the one who belongs to us and we to him'." Other chains report similar narrations.
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَمُجْتَمَعًا لِلْحُورِ الْعِينِ يُرَفِّعْنَ بِأَصْوَاتٍ لَمْ يَسْمَعِ الْخَلاَئِقُ مِثْلَهَا قَالَ يَقُلْنَ نَحْنُ الْخَالِدَاتُ فَلاَ نَبِيدُ وَنَحْنُ النَّاعِمَاتُ فَلاَ نَبْأَسُ وَنَحْنُ الرَّاضِيَاتُ فَلاَ نَسْخَطُ طُوبَى لِمَنْ كَانَ لَنَا وَكُنَّا لَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَأَنَسٍ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ عَلِيٍّ حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the joys that await those in Paradise. Those who enter Jannah will be known as Al-Hur Al-'Ein, which translates to 'the beautiful eyed ones'. They will never die and they will have no needs or worries. They will be filled with joy and comfort all the time, so much so that their voices can be heard from far away. Furthermore, they proclaim good news to those who belong to them and they to them - meaning that they are connected by faith in Allah SWT. In other words, this hadith is a reminder for us all to strive for Jannah through our deeds here on Earth so we can experience its eternal bliss one day insha'Allah!
