Jami at-Tirmidhi 2563 (Book 38, Hadith 41) #28198
Children in Paradise

SUMMARY: The hadith speaks about the believers in Paradise and how they will be able to have children if they desire, but it is also mentioned that some people of knowledge disagree with this.

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "The believer, when he desires a child in Paradise, he shall be carried (in pregnancy), born, and complete his aging in an hour as he desires". The people of knowledge disagreed concerning this, so some of them said that in Paradise there is intercourse but no births. It has been reported like this from Tawus, Mujahid and Ibrahim AnNakha'i. Muhammad said: "Concerning the Hadith of the Prophet SAW: 'When the believer desires a child in Paradise, it shall be in an hour as he desires' Ishaq bin Ibrahim said: 'But he will not desire". Muhammad said: "And it has been reported from Abu Razin Al- Uqaili from the Prophet SAW that he said: 'Indeed the people of Paradise shall not have children therein".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the believers who are in paradise and how they can have children if they desire. It is said that when a believer desires a child, he or she will be carried in pregnancy, born and complete their aging process within an hour as desired. However, there are some people of knowledge who disagree with this idea and say that there is no birth in paradise. It has been reported from Tawus, Mujahid and Ibrahim AnNakha'i that intercourse does not lead to birth in paradise. Ishaq bin Ibrahim said that the believers will not even desire for children because everything is perfect already. Abu Razin Al- Uqaili reported from the Prophet SAW saying "the people of Paradise shall not have children therein". This hadith shows us how perfect life would be for those who enter paradise as everything would happen according to their desires without any difficulty or hardship.
