Sahih al-Bukhari 2939 (Book 56, Hadith 152) #2812
Invoking Allah's Wrath on Disobedience

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) sent a letter to Khosrow, who tore it. The Prophet (ﷺ) then invoked Allah to severely destroy Khosrow and his followers.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas: Allah's Messenger sent his letter to Khosrow and ordered his messenger to hand it over to the Governor of Bahrain who was to hand it over to Khosrow. So, when Khosrow read the letter he tore it. Sa'id bin Al- Musaiyab said, "The Prophet then invoked Allah to disperse them with full dispersion, (destroy them (ie Khosrow and his followers) severely)".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the consequences of disobeying Allah's commands. It narrates the story of when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sent a letter to Khosrow and he tore it. In response to this disobedience, the Prophet ﷺ invoked Allah for severe destruction upon him and his followers. This hadith teaches us that we should always obey Allah's commands as He is All Knowing and All Wise; any disobedience will be met with His wrath. We should also remember that even if we are not punished immediately for our wrongdoings in this life, we will be held accountable for them in the hereafter. Therefore it is important that we strive to do good deeds and stay away from sins so that we can attain success both in this world and in the hereafter.
