The Promise of Paradise for the Followers of the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) was promised by Allah that seventy thousand of his followers will enter Paradise without any reckoning or punishment, and with each thousand are seventy thousand and three measures from Allah's measures.

Abu Umamah narrated the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "My Lord promised me that seventy thousand of my Ummah shall be admitted into Paradise without a reckoning against them nor any punishment. With every thousand, are seventy thousand and three measures from His measures".
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الأَلْهَانِيِّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ وَعَدَنِي رَبِّي أَنْ يُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا لاَ حِسَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ عَذَابَ مَعَ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا وَثَلاَثُ حَثَيَاتٍ مِنْ حَثَيَاتِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about a promise made by Allah to the Prophet Muhammad that seventy thousand of his Ummah will be admitted into Paradise without any reckoning or punishment against them. Furthermore, with every one thousand people admitted into Paradise there will be an additional seventy thousand and three measures from Allah's measures given as a reward for their faithfulness to Him. This hadith serves as an encouragement to believers in Islam to remain steadfast in their faith so they may receive this great reward in the afterlife. It also serves as a reminder that those who follow the teachings of Islam faithfully can expect great rewards from Allah both in this life and hereafter.

The values taught through this hadith include faithfulness to God’s commands and teachings; patience; trustworthiness; obedience; humility; gratitude; kindness towards others; justice; mercy towards all creatures etc..
