The Significance of Believer's Dreams

SUMMARY: Dreams of believers are a portion of Prophet-hood and should not be discussed with just anyone.

Waki' bin 'Udus narrated that Abu Razin Al-Uqaili said: " The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: " The believer's dreams are a portion of the forty portions of Prophet-hood. And it is (as if it is) on the leg of a bird, as long as it is not spoken of. But when it is spoken of it drops". I think he said: " And it should not be discussed except with an intelligent one or a beloved one".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the significance of believer's dreams. It is narrated by Waki' bin 'Udus who heard it from Abu Razin Al-Uqaili who was told by the Messenger of Allah that believer's dreams are a portion of the forty portions of Prophet-hood. This means that believers can receive divine messages through their dreams and these messages should be taken seriously as they come from Allah Himself. However, it is important to note that these messages should not be discussed with just anyone but rather only with an intelligent or beloved person as they will understand its importance better than others.
