Success with Responsibility

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) is advising his followers to be mindful of Allah and to do good deeds when they are successful, and warns them against lying about him.

'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated from his father, that he heard the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said: "Indeed you shall be aided, capturing, and victorious; so whoever among you sees that, then let him have Taqwa of Allah, and let him command the good and forbid the evil, and whoever lies about me on purpose, then let him take his seat in the Fire".

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) is reminding his followers that success should be accompanied by responsibility and piety towards Allah. He encourages them to have taqwa of Allah when they are successful in capturing or victory and to command the good and forbid the evil. He also warns them against lying about him on purpose as it will lead to a seat in Hellfire for those who do so. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive for success but never forget our responsibilities towards Allah while doing so; we must remember that all successes come from Him alone and must use it as an opportunity to do more good deeds instead of becoming arrogant or complacent with our achievements.
