Jami at-Tirmidhi 2176 (Book 33, Hadith 19) #27809
The Authority of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) and the Protection of His Ummah

SUMMARY: Allah has granted the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) authority over the world and two treasures, and promised that his Ummah will not be destroyed by a universal drought or enemies outside of them.

Thawban narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Indeed Allah gathered the earth for me so that I saw its east and its west. And surely my Ummah's authority shall reach over all that was shown to me of it. And I have been granted the two treasures; the red and the white. I asked my Lord that my Ummah is not to be destroyed by a universal drought, and that He does not overcome them by enemies outside of them, reaching to their heart of power. My Lord said: 'O Muhammad! When I issue a decree it is not reversed. I have granted for your Ummah that they shall not be destroyed by universal drought. And that they not be overcome by enemies outside of themselves reaching to their heart of power- even if they gather against them from all the regions"'. Or he said: "Among the regions. But some of them will destroy others, and some will capture others"'.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the authority given to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by Allah, as well as His protection for his Ummah from destruction by drought or enemies outside of them. It is narrated that Allah showed Prophet Muhammad ﷺ all of the earth, east to west, and granted him two treasures - one red and one white - which symbolize knowledge and power respectively. He then asked Allah to protect his Ummah from destruction by drought or enemies outside themselves reaching their heartland, to which Allah replied that once He issues a decree it cannot be reversed; thus granting His protection for His beloved's ummah in this regard. Additionally, some people may destroy others while some may capture others but they will not reach their heartland due to this divine decree from Almighty God Himself!

This hadith teaches us many values such as trust in God’s promises, reliance on Him alone for our safety and security, obedience towards Him in all matters even if we don’t understand why something is happening at first glance etc., It also shows us how much love our beloved prophet ﷺ has for us- he was willing to ask anything from his Lord on behalf of us! May we always remember these teachings so that we can live our lives according to them!
