Jami at-Tirmidhi 2128 (Book 31, Hadith 4) #27760
Hereditary Color of Newborn Babies

SUMMARY: The Prophet (s.a.w) taught that the color of a newborn baby is hereditary and should not be judged or criticized.

Abu Hurairah narrated : "that a man from Banu Fazarah came to the Prophet and said: 'O Messenger of Allah ! My wife gave birth to black boy". So the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Do you have any camels?" He said: 'Yes". He said: "Then what are their colors?" He said: "Red". He said: "Is there a gray one among them?" He said: "Yes, there is a grey one among them". He said: "From where does that come?" He said: "Perhaps it is hereditary". He said: "Then in the same way, perhaps it is his heredity". Abu 'Eisa said: This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

QUICK LESSONS:
Speak kindly even when disagreeing with someone else's opinion; Respect people for who they are regardless of their skin color; Accept people for who they are; Do not judge or criticize a newborn baby based on its color; Be kind when speaking about others; Do not define someone's worth by physical characteristics such as skin colour .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that we should not judge or criticize a newborn baby based on its color, as it is hereditary and out of our control. The Prophet ﷺ used an example from nature to explain this concept, asking the man if he had any camels and what their colors were to illustrate how some things are beyond our control. We can learn from this hadith that we should accept people for who they are, regardless of their skin color or other physical characteristics, as these things are out of our control and do not define someone's worth or character. We must also remember to be kind when speaking about others, as Allah has commanded us in the Quran to speak kindly even when disagreeing with someone else's opinion.
