The Healing Power of Hinna

SUMMARY: The Prophet (S.A.W) would use hinna to treat any wounds or cuts he had.

'Ali bin 'Ubaidullah narrated that his grandmother Salma - who used to serve the The Prophet (S.A.W) said: "There was no wound nor cut on the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) but he would order me to put Hinna on it". Another chain reports a similar narration.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the healing power of hinna, which is a type of plant-based dye used in traditional medicine. It was narrated by Ali bin 'Ubaidullah and his grandmother Salma who served the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. According to the hadith, whenever the Prophet ﷺ suffered from a wound or cut, he would order Salma to put hinna on it as a form of treatment. This shows us that even though we have advanced medical treatments today, traditional remedies such as hinna can still be effective in treating minor injuries and ailments. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us that we should always seek out natural remedies before resorting to more modern treatments if possible since they are often gentler on our bodies and have fewer side effects than modern medicines do.
