Spreading Peace and Fighting Enemies for Paradise

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught us to spread peace, feed others, and fight against the enemies of Islam in order to gain Paradise.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: That the Prophet said: "Spread the (greetings of) Salam, feed others, strike the heads (of the enemy disbelievers); you will inherit Paradise". He said: There are narrations on this topic from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr, Ibn 'Umar, Anas, 'Abdus-Salam, 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Aish, and Shuraih bin Hani' from his father. Abu 'Eisa said: This Hadith is Hasan Sahih Gharib as a narration of Ibn Ziyad from Abu Hurairah.
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمَعْنِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ أَفْشُوا السَّلاَمَ وَأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ وَاضْرِبُوا الْهَامَ تُورَثُوا الْجِنَانَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَنَسٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلاَمٍ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَائِشٍ وَشُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

This hadith teaches us that we should strive to spread peace by greeting others with salam, feed those who are in need, and fight against the enemies of Islam. By doing these things we will be rewarded with paradise. We should remember that our actions have consequences and if we do good deeds then Allah will reward us accordingly. We should also remember that fighting is only permissible when it is done in self defense or for a just cause.
