SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) organized a horse race between two places, Al-Hafya and Thaniyat Al-Wada', for horses that had been made lean.

Narrated ('Abdullah) bin 'Umar: The Prophet arranged for a horse race amongst the horses that had been made lean to take place between Al-Hafya'' and Thaniyat Al-Wada' (ie names of two places) and the horses which had not been mad.? lean from Ath-Thaniyat to the mosque of Bani Zuraiq. I was also amongst those who took part in that horse race. EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ organized a horse race between two places, Al-Hafya and Thaniyat Al-Wada'. This race was only for horses that had been made lean. It is reported that the distance between these two places was five or six miles, and then another mile from Thaniya to the mosque of Bani Zuraiq. This event shows us how much importance the Prophet ﷺ placed on physical activity and sportsmanship. He encouraged people to be active in their lives while also teaching them about competition in a healthy way. It also teaches us about taking care of animals as he only allowed lean horses to participate in this race.
