Other companions of the Prophet such as Umar and Abu Sa'eed permitted its consumption while some considered it disliked. It has been related that Ibn Abbas said that mastigure was eaten on the dining spread of the Messenger of Allah and he only avoided it because he found its taste unpleasant.
