QUICK LESSONS:
Buy items in small quantities if you cannot afford larger amounts

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the permission given by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to Al-'Araya, allowing him to purchase goods in cases of five Wasq or less. A wasq is a unit of measurement for grains and other dry commodities, which is equivalent to 60 sa’, and one sa’ is equal to 4 mudds. This hadith teaches us that it is permissible for people to buy items in small quantities if they cannot afford larger amounts. It also shows us that Islam encourages people not only with their spiritual needs but also with their material needs as well. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that it is important for Muslims not only to be generous but also mindful of their own financial situation when making purchases.
