QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic laws and regulations regarding transactions and exchanges

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn Umar states that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prohibited a certain type of transaction known as Shighar. This is an Arabic term which refers to an exchange of goods or services between two parties without any monetary compensation. This means that one party gives something to the other, and in return, the other party gives something else back without any money being exchanged between them. This kind of transaction was forbidden by the Prophet ﷺ because it was seen as unfair and unjust for both parties involved in it. It is important to remember that this prohibition applies only to transactions where no money is exchanged; if money is involved, then such transactions are allowed according to Islamic law.
