Praying for the Deceased

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was praying for a deceased person and asking Allah to forgive them, have mercy on them, and wash them with snow or ice.

Awf bin Malik said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, while he was performing Salat for a deceased person. I could hear him saying in his prayer: (Allahummagfir lahu, war hamhu, waghsilhu bil-baradi (waghsilhu) kama yughsaluth-thawb) 'O Allah! Forgive him, have mercy upon him, and wash him with (snow or ice) (and wash him) just as a garment is washed'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's prayer for a deceased person. He asked Allah to forgive them, have mercy on them, and wash their sins away with snow or ice. This teaches us that we should always pray for those who have passed away and ask Allah to forgive their sins. We should also remember that no matter how bad someone's deeds were in life, they can still be forgiven by Allah if we sincerely ask Him to do so. Additionally, this hadith reminds us of the importance of having mercy on others even after they are gone as it is an act of kindness that will be rewarded by Allah in the afterlife.
