Hastening to Break the Fast

SUMMARY: The people will remain in a good state as long as they are quick to break their fast.

Sahl bin Sa'd narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: "The people will remain upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، ح قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ، قِرَاءَةً عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَزَالُ النَّاسُ بِخَيْرٍ مَا عَجَّلُوا الْفِطْرَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَعَائِشَةَ وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏ وَهُوَ الَّذِي اخْتَارَهُ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ وَغَيْرِهِمُ اسْتَحَبُّوا تَعْجِيلَ الْفِطْرِ ‏.‏ وَبِهِ يَقُولُ الشَّافِعِيُّ وَأَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَاقُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of fasting and how it can bring goodness into one's life. It is narrated by Sahl bin Sa'd that the Prophet Muhammad said that people will remain in a good state if they are quick to break their fast. This means that when it comes time for breaking the fast, one should not delay or procrastinate but rather do so quickly and with enthusiasm.
