Praying Zuhr and Asr with the Prophet

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed Zuhr and Asr in Al-Madinah and Dhil-Hulaifah respectively.

Anas bin Malik narrated: "We prayed Zuhr as four with the Prophet in Al-Madinah, and Asr as two Rak'ah in Dhil-Hulaifah".
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، سَمِعَا أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ الظُّهْرَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَرْبَعًا وَبِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik tells us about the practice of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He used to pray four Rak'ah for his Zuhr prayer in Al-Madinah and two Rak'ah for his Asr prayer in Dhil-Hulaifah. This hadith teaches us that we should follow the example of our beloved prophet as it is a part of our faith. We should also strive to perform our prayers regularly as it is one of the five pillars of Islam. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us that we should be mindful when performing salat as even small details such as praying two or four Rak'ahs can make a difference.
