Praising Allah and Seeking Refuge in Him

SUMMARY: This hadith is about praising Allah and seeking refuge in Him from Hell.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: When the Messenger of Allah went to his bed, he would say: Praise be to Allah Who has given me sufficiency, has guarded me, given me food and drink, been most gracious to me, and given to me most lavishly. Praise be to Allah in every circumstance. O Allah! Lord and King of everything, God of everything, I seek refuge in Thee from Hell.

QUICK LESSONS:
Thanking Allah for all that he has given you ; Seeking protection from hell by obeying God's commands .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of praising Allah for all that He has given us. It also emphasizes the need to seek refuge in Him from Hell. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to be thankful for all that we have been blessed with and to always remember our Lord when we go to bed at night. We should thank Allah for His sufficiency which means He provides us with enough of what we need; His guarding which means He protects us; His giving food and drink which means He nourishes us; His graciousness which means He is kind to us; and His giving lavishly which means He gives generously. We should also seek refuge in Him from Hell as it is a place of punishment for those who disobey God's commands.
