The Dangers of Excessive Speech

SUMMARY: Allah hates those who speak too much and move their tongues around like cattle.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Messenger of Allah said: Allah , the Exalted, hates the eloquent one among men who moves his tongue round (among his teeth), as cattle do.

QUICK LESSONS:
Speak with mindfulness and purposeful intent
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that Allah does not approve of excessive speech. It is important to be mindful of how much we talk and to ensure that our words are meaningful and purposeful. We should not move our tongues around like cattle do as this is displeasing to Allah. We should strive to use our words wisely and only speak when necessary or when it will benefit others in some way. Additionally, we should be careful not to engage in idle chatter or gossip as this can lead us astray from the path of righteousness.
