Uncertainty of Two People

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was unsure of the status of two people, Tubba and Uzair.

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying : I do not know whether Tubba was accursed or not, and 'Uzair (Azra was a prophet or not).

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek Knowledge From Reliable Sources

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Hurairah, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad. In this hadith, the Prophet states that he does not know whether Tubba and Uzair were accursed or prophets respectively. This hadith teaches us that it is not necessary to have knowledge about everything and it is okay to be uncertain about certain matters. It also teaches us humility as even though the Prophet was a messenger from God, he did not claim to know everything. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to seek knowledge from reliable sources in order to gain understanding on matters we are uncertain about.
