Sunan Abi Dawud 4506 (Book 41, Hadith 13) #24797
Killing a Believer for an Infidel

SUMMARY: A believer should not be killed for an infidel, and if someone kills a man deliberately, they should be handed over to the relatives of the one who has been killed. The relatives can either choose to kill them or accept blood-wit.

Narrated 'Amr b. Shu'aib: On his father's authority said that his grandfather reported the Prophet said: A believer will not be killed for an infidel. If anyone kills a man deliberately, he is to be handed over to the relatives of the one who has been killed. If they wish, they may kill, but if they wish, they may accept blood-wit

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect all human life regardless of their beliefs and faith
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that it is wrong to kill a believer for an infidel. If someone kills another person deliberately, they should be handed over to the relatives of the one who has been killed. The relatives can then decide whether they want to take revenge by killing them or accept blood-wit as compensation instead. This hadith also teaches us that we must respect all human life regardless of their beliefs and faith.
