QUICK LESSONS:

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about the importance of punishing those who steal. It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar that Prophet Muhammad had a man's hand cut off who had stolen from the place reserved for women a shield whose price was three Dirhams. This shows that stealing is not tolerated and should be punished accordingly. The punishment in this case was cutting off his hand as it was deemed appropriate according to Islamic law at that time. This teaches us to respect other people's property and not take what does not belong to us without permission or authority. It also teaches us to abide by laws and regulations set out by our government or religious authorities as they are there for our own protection and safety.
