QUICK LESSONS:
Seek protection from Allah when you are in need .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the mercy and forgiveness that is found in Islam. It tells us of a man named Abdullah ibn AbuSarh who used to write down revelations for the Prophet Muhammad, but then he slipped and joined the infidels. The Prophet commanded to kill him on the day of Conquest, however Uthman ibn Affan sought protection for him and so he was granted it by Allah's mercy. This teaches us that even if someone has done something wrong or has gone astray, they can still be forgiven if they repent sincerely and ask for Allah's mercy. It also shows us how important it is to seek protection from Allah when we are in need as He will always answer our prayers with His infinite mercy and compassion.
