Tanning Animal Skins for Use

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) ordered that the skins of animals which had died a natural death should be tanned and used.

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: The Prophet ordered that the skins of the animals which had died a natural death should be used when they are tanned.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُسَيْطٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمَرَ أَنْ يُسْتَمْتَعَ بِجُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ إِذَا دُبِغَتْ

We can learn from this hadith that we should always try our best to make use of all resources available in an ethical way.
